Leitner Center Welcomes Visiting African Professor of Law - Prof. Frimpong
The Leitner Center for International Law and Justice is pleased to welcome Professor Frimpong as the Leitner Visiting African Professor of Law for the Spring 2011 semester.

Professor Kwame Frimpong is Professor of Law and Dean of GIMPA Law School. A graduate of the University of Ghana and Yale Law School, he has taught at the University of Ghana (1978-1984) and at the University of Botswana (1984-2007) where he is also a former Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences. Professor Frimpong was Secretary General of the Southern African Universities Social Science Conference from 1996 to 1999 and served as the UN Legal Adviser (Observer) to the Commission Regarding Public Violence and Intimidation during South Africa's transition to democratic rule (1992-1994). A noted advocate of rule of law, human rights, democratic rule and good governance in Africa, Professor Frimpong has published extensively in the fields of criminal law, administration of criminal justice, criminology, penology, prison reform, constitutional law and constitutionalism, human rights, democratic governance, and corruption.

Professor Frimpong brings a vast array of expertise to the Leitner Center and the Law School community.  Professor Frimpong will teach a class on African comparative constitutional law.
