In 2010, the Leitner Center’s Sustainable Development Legal Initiative cosponsored Greening the Transatlantic Alliance: EU and US Perspectives on a Global Carbon Market to Combat Climate Change.  

In 2008, the Leitner Center hosted an international conference on customary law in Africa in Botswana.  The two-day conference, African Customary Law Revisited,  was co-sponsored by the University of Botswana and was attended by over 40 African legal scholars and activists.
